We spent Spring Break 2018 in Panama City Beach this year! Here are five fabulous restaurants you must try if you’re going to Panama City Beach soon!
#5 – Hofbrau Munchen – We were in the mood for a break from the usual burger & fries and ventured into Hofbrau Munchen Beer Garden in Pier Park. This German restaurant has great food and tons of Bavarian charm! We haven’t been to Germany (yet) and can’t confirm its authenticity, but we had a great waiter (clad in full kilt, of course) who shared with us that he was recently stationed in Germany and that the food and look & feel of this restaurant are very reminiscent of the real thing. He walked us through some of the German menu (Like a schnitzel simply means ‘something that’s breaded’). We started off with a large pretzel and the “Obazda” (Bavarian Beer Cheese) which was the perfect savory starter to our meal, which included, for me, the Doner Kebab (at the bottom of the pic) and for Tim, the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich. My oldest daughter was warned that the German Mac and Cheese was different from the kind she would be used to,but she really liked it! My youngest was pretty content with some Pigs in a Blanket!
#4 – Diego’s Burrito Factory & Margarita Bar! Great place with an indoor/outdoor bar and great Mexican food! Diego’s is a quick and easy stop with walk-up ordering and plenty of seating inside and out. The fresh chips are wonderful and so are the burritos!
#3 – Margaritaville – One of our favorite reliable chain restaurants that can be found in almost any tropical destination. Aside from being nestled in the beautiful Pier Park outdoor shopping center, the deck dining is also situated in a perfect location to take in some stunning sunsets and great bands in the evenings!
#2 – Andy’s Flour Power Bakery and Restaurant This charming cafe restaurant recently upgraded to a bigger location and stays busy! It’s no surprise why – they have an excellent breakfast menu that is served all day as well as a great sandwich selection with homemade bread also available in their bakery!
#1 – Pineapple Willy’s is a long-time favorite destination diner! We hadn’t been since our last Panama City trip 9 years ago and looked forward to lunch on the pier. The beach and water were overtaken by fog, so not the best day for views but it was still the place to be! They have a nice variety on their menu for everyone. Inside, the restaurant has a beautiful seaside theme with large picture windows to take in the beachside view. They also host a separate music venue so now it’s also a nightlife destination.
BONUS: Krispy Kreme – Okay, so it’s a franchise, but where else can kids of all ages go wear bakery hats and be mesmerized watching dough drop?? And their spring limited-time selection of donuts – namely the Oreo donut – is absolutely delish!
